Ron and I just came back from an impromptu mini-vacation to Joshua Tree, CA.

We stayed at this amazing place called Hicksville Trailer Palace. Kind of like the Madonna Inn in a mini hipster trailer park. Our trailer was themed after the Integratron, a dome-like structure with perfect acoustics where you can take a “Sound Bath.” (I hear it’s something like standing next to a huge speaker at a concert, but in your mind.)

The guy who created the Integratron says aliens told him to do so. So our trailer was super space-themed complete with a machine that projected a constellation of laser stars on our ceiling, a fog machine, and a “alien communication device” that we never got to “work”, I suppose we just aren’t as in touch with the cosmos as we pride ourselves to be.

In addition to lounging, we shot BB guns, drank whiskey, hung out around a fire pit, and ate at a local Western-y restaurant that could only be described as “David Lynch-ian.” Earlier today we checked out the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum because I like going where Anthony Bourdain has gone.
